“Most High” Blog by Speed on the Beat

As we’ve discussed throughout various SOTB platforms, I’ve been on a spiritual journey these last few months and years. Part of that journey is embracing and giving praise to the power and glory of God. While I don’t know if I’ll ever be in the pews every Sunday, I do accept God’s Grace and bask in its glory. You’ve probably seen that on SOTB with more Christian-leaning music.

Today, we have a track from an artist named Stoned Loner. The name doesn’t really scream “Christian hip-hop.” That’s mainly because his name says “weed-centric rap with a Cudi edge” to those who assume. Plus, with a song title like “Most High,” you’re either assuming God or weed. There’s no real in-between. However, that’s the beauty of it all. You’ll go in blind thinking you’re getting a song about that gas. Then, right out the gate, you’ll hear the booming production while also partaking in praise while keeping the devil off. We’re also keeping that MFer in hell, where he belongs. Sorry for cussing. I love this one because it’s the best type of bait and switch. Now, don’t get me wrong: I love my Berry Runtz, but I love God and the things God has helped me accomplished so much more.
